 In partnership with our Ventrilo hosting provider, we are moving to a new high grade server, as of Wednesday 26th March 2008
Our new details is 78.129.193.9:4298.
We will utilise newer codecs, for a better end user experience.
The upgrade will take place early Wednesday and we recommend clan members/regular Ventrilo visitors change their settings around 0900 UK time.

 New Badlands map released!!!!!
Changes to Dustbowl.
>>> Added a new access point to the stage2 attacker gates (drop-down left from spawn), allowing attackers a way to reach the left route without being subjected to the spam and sentry gun fire.
>>> Fixed a gap in stage 3, cap 1 that allowed a player with to wiggle above the "ceiling" clip.
>>> Fixed a gap behind stage 1, cap 1 house.
>>> Fixed a high perch on stage1 cap1 house roof.
>>> Fixed a perch offering view of nodraw textures and the skybox (stage1 cap2 rock barrier).
>>> Fixed a few places where rockets/demoman pipes could pass through non-solid models.
>>> Sealed up a gap over stage1 lower startgate
>>> Clipped off tall windows in stage 3 to prevent sentry guns from behind built behind them
Changes to Capture the Flag Well.
>>> Fixed trains not starting on map spawn.
Removed cap association from red spawns that were spamming console.

Updates to Team Fortress 2, the Source Engine, and SourceTV will be over the next 24 hours. The updates will be applied automatically when your Steam client is restarted. You can find the full change list below.

Refactored how lightmaps are downloaded to the graphics card at level load. On some hardware configurations this can lower level load times significantly.
>> Optimized some particle systems to improve performance on some hardware configurations.
Player stats are now sent up as they change, rather than when the player dies.
>> Improved playback of sub-frame sounds.
>> Fixed a crash caused by alt-tabs during map load.
>> Eliminated unnecessary temporary memory allocation in scenefilecache.
SourceTV
SourceTV now uses a hidden slot on the game server. This allows for 24 player servers to also have a SourceTV proxy connected to it and fixed Pyro's flamethrower flames not showing up in SourceTV.

May I welcome [SE] Domestos aka Andy back into the fold after a small break.
For members who don't know who Domestos is, he helped develop the stormerelite website, forums and initial marketing along with Aimbob (Our resident marketing guy). Often a voice of reason within the clan, we welcome his valued input once again.
Domestos aka Andy will now take a greater role in recruitment and marketing, with Aimbob now taking an advisory role.
May I wish Domestos, on behalf of the clan, our full support and we look forward to fragging him on the battlefield soon.

| CLAN NEWS: CALL OF DUTY 4 LAUNCHES AT THE STORMERELITE |

It is with great pleasure that, after some persistent mithering on my behalf, some knowledge & expertise from Uncle Rapid and the Technical Brilliance of DM we can now announce that Stormer Elite has launched the Call of Duty server at no extra cost.
You can join in the fun at 77.74.194.123:28960
Pinki and Myself gave the server a test run tonight for about 30 minutes, and I can report that the server is running in full ranked mode. At one point we had several external players joining us and everything ran smoothly.
Its a massive pat on the back for DM and Rapid for their efforts tonight, and please if you own COD4 get on our server and test pilot it over the next 7 days to ensure things are running smoothly. :-)

Steam has been upgraded with improved features:
Fixed in-game overlay causing a crash for users running Windows XP without Service Pack 2 installed and fixed mouse clicks in-game sometimes not registering in the correct position for the in-game overlay.
Reduced CPU useage when using chat and group chat, idle on the Store and Community tabs.
Fixed Steam windows showing up in the task-bar but impossible to restore.
